Been extremely occupied lately. Won't believe it.. been sleeping at 1 am and waking up at 9 am! Thank God i have a flexi time job. Turning up at office at 9 am is not essential. So now my working hours are more like 10 am or 1030am to 6.30 pm or 7pm. I can start late and finish late, as long as i do the hours it's fine.
Yesterday we had a launch event at our area. I am part of the group that started off full cardiovascular screening in pharmacies. This mean patient over 40 can walk into our 11 selected pilot pharmacies to have their blood pressure, weight, body mass index, random blood glucose and cholesterol tested for FREE! Our organisation is paying the pharmacists to provide the service.
I am quite proud of this project as i was there ever from the beginning to the end. Lots of big shot turn up in that pharmacy, like the chief pharmaceutical officer for Department of Health, Chairperson for Pharmaceutical Service Negotiation Committee and independent chair of Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
Also, Boris Johnson sent his apology. Too short notice. That's what i was told. It was in the newspaper, Evening Standard and pharmaceutical journal.
Quite glad this has taken off the ground inspite of the resistance and the whole thing fell flat on my face in meeting in the beginning !
