How do you change a heart

I have been thinking, how do you change someone? How do you change yourself? I am not talking about an external act, those where you do because you have to. I am talking about a change of heart, your whole being. This question applies to parents and child, employees and employers, president and their citizens, teacher and students, preachers and listeners.

Well, in actual fact, You can't. We can influence, sometimes in steps, sometimes in leaps. People change as a result of their eyes. They finally saw it ! They see the relevance of what you have been on and on about...

So what should they see? They should see the big picture, they should grasp the vision. And we, our role is to share the VISION with them. It's not brain-washed, it's called vision.

Why do you think all these riots and revolution accur? Not because they were not using their mind. The main point is, the leaders were casting vision in their hearts, and guiding their thinking according to the vision.

Vision make people passionate. Once people has grasped the vision, they can overturn the whole world. You don't have to tell them what to do. They will become proactive, come to you, and ask you what they should do to bring the vision into fruition.

SOmetimes, it takes an hour for people to see, sometimes a year... and sometimes a lifetime. I, as a child of God, believe there is another dimension that the physical world, the spiritual dimension. So, i do the sharing of vision and passion, and i leave it to the sovereignity of God to make them understand and own that vision for themselves. Of course, to begin it, my vision comes from God. That explains some people see it, and some people don't. Some people seek , some people don't even find the need for a new pair of eyes.

To put things into context, i told my manager today, with this whole shifting of hospital services into primary care, and paying our GP to refer to primary care services and asking them not to refer to patients to hospitals to save money is not going to work in the long-term. The GPs are only doing it because we pay them, which means, when we stop paying them, they will go back to the old ways of sending patients to hospitals instead of taking care of the patients themselves. The GPs can't see the big picture form the Department of Health. The big picture is that five or ten years down the road, patients no longer need to travel far to hospitals to have their blood test or have they blood sugar checked. They can just go to their GPs which is round the corner and get these services. That's the vision. That's the plan. Tell the GP this is going to take place in the future, can you see it? Do you want to be part of this plan or not? If yes, then, let's do something about it. Upgrade your skills, go for training days, become a GP with special interest. There are possibiltities. There is much more you can do with your GP qualification. You are more than seeing coughs and colds! Prove your worth. We are here to support you.

Well the tragedy is, none of those happened, not in my organistation anyways. The senior management team is pinning on saving money. What you sow, is what you reap. You tell the Gps that we are doing this because we want to save money, this will be the mindset you have created. The GPs are actively referring the patients to PCT-run services because we pay them to do it. They didn't realise if they are not interested, private sector will buy in their service and run it.

Ignorance is bliss. Yes... Don't be ignorant..
